1. Registration & Payment

All ticket sales are final; there are no refunds or exchanges. Tickets are non-transferable. All prices are in Canadian funds. Full payment is required at time of booking.

2. Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner throughout the conference. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of inappropriate behaviour, including offensive verbal comments, intimidation, or unwelcome advances, will not be tolerated. Attendees who violate this policy may be removed from the event without a refund and may be barred from future events.

3. Privacy & Data Protection

By registering for this conference, attendees consent to the collection, use, and storage of their personal information by the organizers for event-related purposes only. This may include processing registrations, communicating important event updates, and providing access to session materials. Personal data will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent, except as required by law

4. Event Modifications & Cancellations

The organizers shall not be held responsible for any cancellation, postponement, or modification of the event due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, war, pandemics, government-imposed restrictions, labour strikes, utility failures, or other unforeseen emergencies. In such cases, the organizers reserve the right to reschedule the event, transition to a virtual format, or cancel it entirely. Refund policies in such circumstances will be determined at the organizers’ discretion.

5. Event Content & Speakers

The views and opinions expressed by speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors at the conference are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of the organizers. The organizers do not endorse or assume responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information presented during the event. Attendees are encouraged to exercise their own judgment when acting upon any information received at the conference.

6. Liability & Disclaimer

The organizers, sponsors, and affiliated partners shall not be held responsible for any personal injury, illness, or property damage sustained by attendees during the conference, including travel to and from the event. Attendees assume all risks associated with participation in the conference.

7. Fee Collection

Please note that Barker Hutchinson does not retain any portion of the sponsorship fees. Barker Hutchinson is providing in-kind administrative and marketing support to make the WICC a successful event, including managing finances. All funds collected go directly to the conference’s operating budget, and all profits from the conference go directly to supporting University of Ottawa law students.
