Greg Hutchinson and Alex Saul to present “Mastering Evidence Collection” workshop to Canadian regulators.

APRIL 25, 2022

Greg Hutchinson and Alex Saul will present a workshop on “Mastering Evidence Collection” through the CNAR Spring Workshop series (https://events.cnar-rcor.ca/2022-spring-workshops-list/) on May 11, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.

The collection of evidence is central to any investigation.  Investigators must carefully consider what evidence should be collected at the outset of each investigation, and, at times, it is necessary to collect evidence unannounced to maintain the integrity of the investigation. Successfully collecting evidence unannounced requires skill and careful planning as challenges routinely arise. Knowing what to expect and having proven strategies to navigate such challenges is essential.

This workshop will provide participants with criteria to assess when evidence should be collected unannounced, how to prepare for an unannounced attendance and the systematic steps that should be completed to ensure a fair – yet thorough – process.  We will also explore strategies to effectively navigate the many challenges that can arise and review the pitfalls investigators can fall into.
