We are currently seeking a Report Writer & Editor to join our team.
As a report writer you will be tasked with the preparation of investigation reports for both professional regulators and employers. A significant proportion of our cases involve allegations of harassment, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, inappropriate billing practices, practice-related concerns, and other forms of professional misconduct.

As a report writer you will be responsible for the following:
- Generate high quality and timely investigation reports that will be read by Barker Hutchinson & Associates’ clients;
- Work as an integrated component of investigations and manage multiple reports simultaneously;
- Quickly grasp technical healthcare information;
- Participate in the development of standard approaches to report writing;
- Edit, format, and proofread client deliverables.
Qualifications – Requirements for successful candidacy include:
- Degree in English, law, health, or a related field;
- Minimum 5 years experience as a writer and/or editor;
- Superior writing skills, and the ability to summarize large volumes of information clearly, effectively, and in plain language;
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction and supervision;
- Superior computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat;
- A high degree of discretion and sensitivity;
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple assignments at any given time;
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines; and
- Ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities.
Candidates with the following skills are particularly encouraged to apply:
- Experience as a decision writer for professional regulators;
- Experience with legal or medical writing; and
- Fluency in another language (written and oral).
Remuneration and Benefits
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 + annual incentive program;
